Bend epilogue!

Confession: I don’t care for epilogues. As a reader, I find that they usually don’t add anything to my enjoyment of the story. As a writer, they make me uncomfortable.

But why? Maybe because in the epilogue, everything keeping the main characters apart has been resolved. Rarely is there any tension or problems left to keep things interesting.

I’m also uncomfortable with sentimentality. It has to feel real to me, or it doesn’t work.

Writing the Bend epilogue was definitely a challenge, but I tried to keep it true to the book in all aspects: making sure the characters are still the same people and showing that they still have challenges ahead of them.

So check it out. Hope you enjoy it!

  1. I just finished Bend last night. Loved the book so much I purchased it after reading it via Kindle Unlimited. I can’t wait for the second book. I’m dying to know what’s up with Logan and what happened to put him in the doghouse.

    • So glad you liked Bend, Sandy! And thank you for letting me know! And I hope you’ll like Mend. Writing it is a very different experience from writing Bend, that’s for sure. 🙂
