mend

There's also a Discussion Group for Mend on Facebook.

  1. Mend is a second chance romance featuring a separated married couple with children, headed for divorce. Is this a type of story that generally appeals to you? If not, what made you give this one a shot?
  2.  Over the course of reading the book (and Bend as well, for those of have read both), what did you suspect was the reason for the rift between Paige and Logan? Did your guess change as you got further along?
  3.  The jealous, possessive alpha is a common archetype in the romance genre. Is this a type of hero you enjoy reading? How did you feel about this trope being turned on its head in this story, where excessive jealousy was the main conflict between the characters?
  4.  Paige is a complicated character, with many contrasting strengths and vulnerabilities. Which parts of her personality did you like and which did you dislike?
  5.  “Complicated” is an understatement when it comes to Logan. By the end of the story, it’s clear he’s made many mistakes. Did you find any of them understandable or relatable? Which of his personality traits and/or actions did you have the strongest emotional response to?
  6.  Logan’s childhood can only be described as messy. What are your thoughts on his parents? Did you like his dad, and was he right to blame himself for his wife never having any more contact with Logan?
  7.  Do you think Logan’s childhood would’ve been better if his mother hadn’t disappeared?
  8.  Did the nature of Paige and Logan’s sex life surprise you? Do you think Paige’s kink is unnatural and/or unhealthy? How do you think Logan felt about it? And by the end of the book, had things changed, and if so, why?
  9.  Did you like the flashback scenes? Were there too many or too few? Were they important to the story?
  10.  One of the story’s biggest controversies is Graham and that kiss. Do you feel like Paige cheated on Logan by kissing Graham?
  11. Did you think Paige would have sex with Graham to punish Logan? How would you have felt if she did, how do you think Logan would have reacted, and how would it have changed the ending of the story?
  12.  Did you feel that both characters had grown and changed as individuals by the end of the story? Did you wish anything about their emotions and behavior would’ve turned out differently?
  13.  Was their reconciliation believable? Did you want them to find their way back to each other or did you think they were incompatible and/or was the rift between them too deep?
  14.  Can you think of any moments in the book that were particularly relatable—any part of a conversation that seemed familiar or an emotion a character was experiencing where you knew exactly what they were feeling?
  15.  Did you like the epilogue? Did it feel hopeful? Was there anything else from Paige and Logan’s changed lives you wish would’ve been shown instead?
